Thread- In the FWIW category, a company positioned in the last mile spending space, Channel Commercial(sym:CHNL) has made a group of announcements recently that leave me wondering what is being planned. CHNL is positioned between telco and cableco spending. It's a somewhat low tech, and inexpensive way to invest in the infrastructure game.
My take on the recent announcements. CHNL is getting serious about going global to take advantage of the rest of the world playing catch up to US narrowband/broadband access spending upgrades. -MikeM(From Florida)

CHANNELL NAMES GERALD SHIMIRAK DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL CONDUCTIVITY R&D

Channell Commercial Corporation today announced that Gerald L. Shimirak has joined the Company as Director, Global Conductivity, Research and Development. Shimirak has been named on over 30 U.S. patents for copper wire, coaxial cable and fiber optic connectivity designs. Shimirak, recipient of Telephony Magazine's prestigious Ray Blain Outside Plant Achievement Award, has had over 30 years of product development and engineering experience in the telecommunications industry with Raychem Corporation and Bell Canada. In 1996, Shimirak was honored by Raychem Corporation as one of its six top inventors and was named to the Company's Paul M. Cook Technical Hall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments at Raychem.
