Wall street ignorantly thinks new economy is internet.

Economy is here and is in everybodies' pockets. Money, money and more money.

Internet is just starting. Needs a deep pocket to build it. Where is the new economy? Not yet in internet.

Internet technology is in the ASPs where redundant data protection and repository will be everywhere. This ends in the benefit of paperless society with minimum cost of doing transactions. It may help the new economy, but it is far from being the new economy. Wrong analysis or the wrong understanding of new economy is Wall street's wrong valuation. But then Wall street's valuation has always been technical meaning the supply and demand of a particular stock.

Why fool others and thus fool yourselves, believing internet is the new economy. Intenet is merely a tool for communications; does not generate any real products for the masses such as food, clothing or shelters not to mention transportation. Therefore it is not the whole economy, definitely not the new economy.
