Contrary to popular media belief, you can't base your business on grwoth. You have to base it on absolute numbers (where the PC is still king). The fastest growth will be via WAP on cell phones, and it is a gamble to bet against MSFT there when you don't have to. Most things that run on IE4 will easily convert to WAP. Other than WAP, the PC will still remain the growth king, and the the king in absolute numbers. Trust me on this, one, I have done my research.

What most people predict as non-PC devices will simply end up as cheap PCs. The Intel box economics are too attractive to attempt to build a new or proprietary architecture. Ask Sun, Oracle, IBM and everyone else who tried to push the Javastation, the NC, the network appliance, etc. etc.
