USABancShares.com Triples Keyboard Distribution with eMachines To 2,000,000 Units
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2000--USABancShares.com (NASDAQ-``USAB') today announced that it more than tripled the number of eMachines computers to ship featuring a USABancShares.com ``hot button' displayed on each keyboard. The button directs users instantly to usabancshares.com for 24/7 online access to the country's No. 1 rated banking products and services.
The original agreement covered distribution of 600,000 eMachines computers, each of which offered four ``hot buttons' leading to USABancShares.com, Amazon.com, Ebay and the GoTo search engine. Under the new agreement, a total of 2,000,000 computers will ship under the program, which will again include a number of other leading Internet brands with hot button access.
eMachines is the No. 3 retail desktop PC provider in the country, following Hewlett-Packard and Compaq.
``Point-of-sale presence is important to us . . . and there's no better real estate for achieving point-of-sale power than directly on a computer keyboard,' said Daniel Taylor, Director of Electric Banking for USABancShares.com. ``Getting people to our site through the push of a button - that's always in view as they use their computer - is a great way to increase our customer base,' he concluded.
As one of the first in the country to offer real-time wireless access to FDIC insured financial services, the company also said that it is preparing to add a new component to its point-of-sale strategy through select wireless hardware manufacturers.
