<<Greg, Do you think there is enough money waiting on the sidelines to supoort a rally here?>>
darn, my crystal ball is broken! <g> if you have to weigh your investment decisions on all the talking head on cnbc, pick carefully! of course, as any form of media, they'll give you every conceivable view...so, at the end of the day, you better make your own educated opinion. mine is there was almost a record amount of cash in mutual funds going into last month and we have IRA money flowing in, as well... most of the IRA money will likely flow into more aggressive funds, so we'll see some support. what we've lost is momentum. it may take a while to regain that, but this market has surprised everyone in how quickly it can snap back. if there is no need for the fed to raise rates in may, we'll have yet another reason to rally. not only that, but how much money do you think bonds are now going to attract now that we're at a 5.7% yield on the long bond? also, the amount of bonds being made available from the govt is decreasing.... gee, if i'm looking for yield, i'd have to look at stocks like REI and SO... whoops, wondering off topic...btw, if you want to play a stock that is surely making money from this volatility (look at how wide the spreads are on most stocks), pick up some NITE.
