LTK,

1)"In 4 years on my old computer i never was confronted with a virus."

If you are saying in effect, "because I have not had a problem in the past, I won't have one in the future"...I think that is misguided. It has not happened to me either...yet...but I'm sure numerous readers of this thread that can attest, first hand, to the aggravation that can be caused. How would you feel, for instance, if 15 minutes from now, you could not access your hard drive...or, all of your financial information had been transformed into sort of an alien morse code....don't know about you, but I would feel very helpless...and regretful of my lack of diligence to simple security efforts.

Yes, it is a pain... #reply-13334496

So is writing the check for homeowners insurance...

2)"i haven't been able to find the resource meter?."

Simply repeat the clicksteam you followed to get the System Information...but instead of clicking on that item, click on Resource Meter from the menu. It is on the same "list" as the information application.

Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Resource Meter

Good luck,

JCC
