Users of Sony's Portable Digital Music Players Can Preview, Purchase, Download
And Playback Music From the Liquid Catalog
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Liquid Audio, Inc. (NASDAQ:LQID) today
announced that it will offer the full catalog of Liquid(TM) Music downloads on Sony Electronics'
Musiclub Web site. This will enable users of Sony's digital music players to preview, purchase,
download and playback secure music files and transfer them to their Sony devices. Beginning this
week, the companies will unveil a showcase of free downloads from this catalog in the Sony ATRAC3
format, hosted and delivered by Liquid Audio. Consumers can access these downloads at both Sony's
www.sony.com/musiclub site and the 750 music sites in the Liquid(TM) Music Network.

Liquid Audio and Sony have completed the integration of their Internet music delivery systems.
As a result, consumers can use Liquid(TM) Player software together with Sony OpenMG(TM) jukebox
software to preview, purchase, download and playback secure, CD-quality music files on Sony
portable music players. Sony will offer a custom-branded version of the Liquid Player software for free
download to customers of its new VAIO(R) Music Clip(TM) and Memory Stick(R) Walkman(R)
devices, which are now shipping in the United States.
