Ontex Announces Appointment Of New President
Toronto, Ontario - Wednesday, April 5, 2000, 11:34 AM EDT
Ontex Resources Limited ("Ontex") is pleased to announce the
appointment of Charles Harnick, Q.C. as its President and Chief
Executive Officer, on an interim basis, following the acceptance
by the Board of Directors of the resignation of Robin Goad from
that position. Mr. Harnick, who was appointed as a director of
Ontex in February, 2000, has served as the Attorney-General for
Ontario from June 1995 to June 1999 and as an MPP in the Ontario
Legislature from 1990 to 1999. Mr. Harnick is presently counsel
to the law firms of MacMillan Rooke Boeckle and Ferguson and
Boeckle.
Mr. Goad, who also serves as President, CEO and a director of
Fortune Minerals Limited, resigned as President and CEO of Ontex
following the divestiture by Fortune of its shares in Ontex last
year. Mr. Goad has expressed his support of the appointment of
Mr. Harnick as interim President and will continue to serve as a
director of the company.
