In fact, as you can see from my previous posts, I am the President and CEO of EarthLink. I did not respond directly to the first of these threads as most of the allegations are poppycock.

Two examples are;

1. Goodwill from acquistions ... until this past month when EarthLink acquired the customers of Internet in a Mall (IIAM) from the bankruptcy trustee, EarthLink had done only one acquisition of a small ISP from the Bay Area called BDT. This was done primarily to gain the services of one David Beckmire and a couple of his key technical staff. These gentlemen make of the core of our Information Technology group today. Net ... when EarthLink went public we had little to no good will on our balance sheet.

2. Scientology ... this almost gets to be funny. If you read the post you would believe that the Church of Scientology was running EarthLink. First, Sky is a scientologist by choice. Second, I am a long time Southern Baptist by choice. Third, our CFO is a long time Catholic .. by choice. I have been at EarthLink for 16months and during that time I have never met anyone from the Church of Scientology and can state unequivocably that no stock is owned by that institution. In fact, until I came to EarthLink in Jan of last year, I had never heard of the Church of Scientology.

EarthLink is run like most other companies. We have established goals and objectives for every group within the company and we monitor our performance against those objectives on an ongoing basis. I ran another public company in Atlanta for five years and was a senior executive at another technology company prior to that .. also in Altanta. EarthLink is on the right track and with continued support from our members and our share holders we will succeed.
