Mike,
Wow...our home in Sydney has tons of 20 ft tall rhodeis & camillias trees....the flowers are 6-8 inches in diameter...its so beautiful......azea's about 10 x 10, majestic (really huge) pink and violet magnolia trees, tropical ferns..must have taken years and years to grow......its one of the most beautiful yards I've ever seen...and I miss it here and hope the tenents are taking good care...So I got this brochure for rhodis @$2 from a Mid Eastern nursery. Went bananas and ordered two dozens...and guess what..they were an inch tall...LOL...Maybe my grandchildren can enjoy them....resolved never to mail order again...!!!!
I'm looking at the camilias here, the 3 ft tall shrubs of the same veriety are around $120 each. Maybe if the market rebounds... :-)
Bought a *lot* of azealeas, rhodendrons, hydrangeas, lots of vines - trumpet, wisterias, passion flowers, jasmines, mandevillas, clematis...and *lot* of russel lupines, digitalis, foxgloves, peonies, impatiens, geraniums and the smaller ones like scabiosas, gerberas, carnations, daisies, more daisies, daylilies and other lilies, dianthus...etc etc..I went nuts with the bulbs in winters and those look great too.....
I'm a self confessed greenaholic.....looking for cheap bargains all the time..... |
