My email to IMON just today regarding their presence at NAB 2000. Of course, I included my name, address, etc. in the original email:
info@imaginon.com
(Not just another stupid email.) Allright. Here's the scoop. I am a shareholder, and have held IMON since January. The price has continued to drop (probably not your fault), but why, pray tell, is IMON not part of the WorldConference panels, feature tutorials, or MS feature display at NAB 2000? Looks to me like you have a lot more competition than you are admitting, and looks like THEY have their foot in the door. The only place I see IMAGINON is in the booths, and only because I was looking for your booth SPECIFICALLY. I would have assumed that with your exciting product(s), you would try to be in-your-face as much as possible. You can be assured that I have some knowledge of how overwhelming the Las Vegas experience can be. I attended COMDEX this past November, and after 3 days, I still had not been to the Sands. I talked to dozens and dozens of people, and the only booths I remembered were the ones like SONY which gave away free canvas bags; iSociety (which gave away a free coffee mug - the very same one sitting on my desk this minute); Microsoft (who could forget Microsoft, they took up more room than anyone else); and a small handful of others (whose T-shirts are in my closet). By the by, having been to COMDEX, are you giving away any freebies? I recommend not going cheap in the sense that fridge magnets, pens and balloons are just not Kosher. And don't ever think that Broadcasters are a step up from business owners who buy software. Broadcasters like freebies, too (they all have wives, husbands, kids, grandchildren). So. As a shareholder, I HIGHLY recommend having about 5000 free trinkets. It's my company, too, and I want it to succeed. It's not too late to whip something up, assuming that you know the right people. "IN YOUR FACE" is the motto of the day! It is the only way people will remember your product, because by the time they get home, they will be suffering from temporary amnesia due to sensory overload. Best wishes at NAB. (You will need it.) |
