Yaacov. I am not sure if they can insist. We have a lot of lawyerly avenues. I think we could be classified as a country of lawyers. gg.

Msft says they want to expedite the penalty phase by the court but I would think that they would like to prolong the case if the ruling is very unfavorable. If I am not mistaken, both sides have agreed to a speedy penalty phase.

I think I heard that Judge Jackson wanted to make all the settlement talks public but both sides wanted it sealed. If I find that I am wrong on this last part, I will post it to you when I find something to the contrary. This is interesting though. Both sides wanted it to be sealed.

I don't have Msft right now, so I am not totally involved in checking out every detail. And again. You are pressing me. gg. I am not a Lawyer. Even Lawyers don't know everything, they just think so and try to make us and the Courts believe that they do. I will leave Judges out of this at this time. gg.

Every Lawyer puts his own spin on the Constitution and every case they handle, so why should it be diff. in cases of anti trust laws. It's impossible for the every day person to keep up with all this crap. I think applying our common sense in this matter is just as good as anything else. Not that it will make a diff. in the end.

Bill Gates was on the Hill today. I am sure he was doing some lobbying about this case. I saw him walking down the halls on the Hill with quite a crowd surrounding him. After all, a good chunk of this good economy can be attributed to his company. But can you blame anyone for trying to get a piece of the action? Money wise or business wise? BTW. Did you see Pres.Clinton hanging on B.G.'s almost every word. At least the part that I saw. It was like: Dear Bill G. It's not I causing you this trouble, it's my DOJ and then those 19 States Atty's who wanted a piece of the action.

Oh yes. Let's not forget. We have to protect the consumer from things that have actually been pretty good for him. I am one of those. I would just love to browse the net without any guidance. ;) Windows are fine with me but could be outdated by the time this case is over. Probably another reason why Msft would want to slow things down. But, on the other hand, if they stop Msft from innovating and windows go out the window, what's next for them?

Sonny
