Its amazing how everybody is neglecting the political influence into this case. The Democrats are scared shitless that this case could cause them to lose office in November. Remember, many people own MSFT and they will remember the Attorney Generals of the states and all the other politicans out to get Microsoft during election time. Bill realizes this and that is why he wants to put this off till November because this whole case would be dumped at that time. Guarantee it will be a "George Bush" rallying cry for MSFT cause he knows it is his best shot to get into the White House. MSFT could sell off another 10 bucks from here, but it will be a 130 spot by Sepetember.

It is in the best interest of all parties to settle. It is still not too late. If the DOJ goes for a home run, they will strike out. They should go for a double and be happy.
MSFT will give in, I don't believe Gates and Ballmer thought there was an opporunity to settle. Its tough to negogiate with 20 factions. Ever try to have a corporate meeting? Notice how long they take and nothing ever seems
to get done.

I think Bill is arrogant and stubborn but he didn't become a billionaire for nothing.
