Paul, it's a crapshoot. It's as easy as this - if you're in it short term, take your profits before earnings. But if you plan on holding at LEAST another three months, hold on. If it goes up, you win. If it goes down, buy more! Had you done this last Q, you would be able to pay Harvard tuition, cash.

One thing I sometimes do is to sell half or a portion of my holdings prior to earnings. But that's still 50/50. AMD is around for at LEAST a couple more quarters, we all know that. Most likely they will be around much longer. The street will realize this soon enough.
