The small investor is here to stay to be sure. I wish I had the stats on hand, but the numbers of people coming online and predicted to come online and start trading over the next few years is staggering. I've read several articles on this, just don't have any at hand, so you'll just have to trust me. However, I think it is safe to say that all the new accounts at ETrade and the others, and all the increased volume, is in a large part due to new blood coming onto the trading scene. I think the odds of the market ceasing activity altogether is slim. We may get a protracted period of lowered activity when the so-called "big boys" go on holiday, but there are many more smaller investors out there who will keep things a little more active this summer than last, perhaps. (Heck, I'd like to see all us smaller investors act in unison, in greater numbers, and pull a few rugs out from under the insittutions for a change.) Anyway, the more doubters about ETrade as a stock, the better. Once the moeny talks, well, the bullshit walks, no?

Speaking of things scatological, and in reference to an earlier post, I keep seeing people use the phrase "out the wazoo" on several different message boards. Looks like this is the phrase that people are connecting with from the ad campaign. I am always grateful when I see someone use it in reference to their stock...money in the bank!
