oldtrader: loved your comment, about the east coast attitude. Five days ago, in a really bad section of market street in san francisco, dot.com companies are bidding (via brokers) right now on 11,000 sp ft of space, paying 8 months rent in advnce at $42,000 per month of rent. Not a bad time to be a landlord, in the bay area. The owner is a friend of mine, but it also has an impact on me. I left the east coast in 1968. Still miss the fresh water lakes and ponds in new england. Recently revisited Boston, and found the street patterns and traffic extremely frustrating. I don't get it. As for Kemble, he bought so much land around him, he is going to start a whole new city there, for silicon valley types who want a taste of the best of New England in the spring and fall...As usual, he is thinking WAY ahead... |
