NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--RSL Communications Ltd. (RSLC) signed a definitive agreement to acquire Voyager, a U.K. Internet provider and networking specialist.
Financial terms weren't disclosed.
In a press release Thursday, RSL, a Hamilton, Bermuda, facilities-based communications company, said data will account for about 25% of its fixed-line revenue as a result of the acquisition.
RSL said the acquisition, subject to closing conditions, would allow it to offer corporate U.K. customers one-stop global communications services.
The company, which last month bought Rednet, a U.K. Internet business-to-business company, said it plans to make additional Internet acquisitions later this year.
RSL posted losses after items of $358.2 million, or $6.63 a share, for all of 1999. Revenue was $1.47 billion.
RSL's stock was recently trading at 22 1/2, up 1 3/4, or 8.4%, on Nasdaq volume of 58,900 shares. Average daily volume is 1.2 million shares.
