I've heard uvulectomy advocated. And yes, JFred, thanks for the uvula info. Early cartoonists never omitted it. It's just such a great springpoint for salacious puns.
(My loving spouse, who's ever so slightly dyslexic, once described the surgical procedure to folks with whom we were going out to eat. Of course, she flubbed the part where (at full decibels) she described cutting out the uvula. It was one of those crystalline moments when the roar of the restaurant stops dead for a second, then starts up again.)
