I think there is no doubt that the folks who are trying to scam the world decided to defend the market as best they could. The good news is, if this is a real crash, they will simply be feeding the fire with their cash. The same thing also happened in 1929. The President of the NYSE organized a buying pool to buy at the bottom. He was bankrupt when they finally arrested him for embezzlement. These scams only work when the market still has momentum, which it may still have. But if the dyke has burst, all of these thumbs won't help.
