MEDIA ADVISORY - World's Largest Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Demonstration Project
OTTAWA, April 6 /CNW/ - Ron Osborne, President and CEO of Ontario Power
Generation and Art Eggleton Minister of National Defence (on behalf of Ralph
Goodale, Minister of Natural Resources Canada), in partnership with Siemens
Westinghouse Power Corporation and the US Department of Energy, will announce
an exciting new $18 million project, to construct and operate the world's
largest pre-commercial solid oxide fuel cell combined heat and electric power
plant.
The system, to be installed at Ontario Power Generation's affiliate
Ontario Power Technologies' Toronto facilities, represents a final step before
commercialization of this highly efficient, environmentally friendly
technology.
