TC,

I've been paper trading a very short term idea that I've had for some time. Your short term posts inspired me to get the idea back on the front burner and give it a try. I've signed on for a trial with My eSignal, real-time streaming quotes. They haven't turned me on yet, so I'm staying with paper trades until then.

I've been using 10 minute bars on the AskResearch screen. It is delayed by 15 minutes and updates each 5 minutes. By combining this with FreeRealTime, I am able to get a pretty current picture.

At any rate, all this enabled me to short LCOS yesterday just after 1500 EDT at 66 even. I held it over night and covered it this morning just a few minutes into trading at 62-1/16. I figure I'll do this much as you do. I'll trade 200 share lots and use margin.

This particular trade would have picked up $788 less $20 in commissions (or so), or a solid 11% plus in only a few hours. I've had several of these lately, including that scary Tuesday. My goal is to get two points, which with 200 shares will net $400 per trade. Often the gain is quite a bit more and so far I've only had one loss. That was a SCH short yesterday at 54 and covered this morning at 54-1/2. I am determined not to let these get away from me. If the trade doesn't go right inside of 10 minutes, I'm gone. The commissions are cheap enough to do this.

Ken
