Wow--I didn't believe this was true, but here you go. Anam is preparing to file an IPO. Youlu will be pleased--Amkor may still get the valuation of TSM via this deal, since Anam is now effectively a foundry. This should generate huge money for Amkor and all of us. . .+11 right now.

Anam Semiconductor Preparing for US Share Sale, KED Reports
By Ian King

Seoul, April 6 (Bloomberg) -- Anam Semiconductor Inc., one of the world's largest computer chip packagers, is preparing its first quarter accounts according to U.S. standards as a preliminary step to listing shares on the Nasdaq Composite Index, the Korean Economic Daily reported, citing a company official. The report said the company will apply to sell shares in the U.S. when it emerges from a government-imposed ``work-out' program that gave it protection from creditors after it was unable to pay its debts. The listing is likely to come ``later this year, or early next,' the report said.

In February, Amkor Technology Inc., the world's largest provider of outsourced semiconductor packaging and test services, said it will pay $1.4 billion in cash and shares for three Anam plants, giving it a majority stake in the Korean company.
