Ayaco Project - Leach Tests Return 1.27 g/t Gold Over 17.0 Meters

VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 2000--Columbia River Resources Inc. (OTCBB:CRVV - news) is pleased to announce that the first trench into one of the mineralized zones at the Ayaco Project in Ghana, West Africa, has returned Leachwell results of 1.27g/t over 17.0 metres from 600gm composite samples. One meter length, 50gm fire assay results of the same material averaged 1.05g/t and ranged from 0.02g/t to 3.66g/t. A central intrusive hosted zone averaged 1.56g/t over 8.0 meters.

Individual quartz pyrite veinlets within the intrusive assayed as high as 26.44g/t Au.

The mineralized zone is bound to the northwest by pyritic quartz serecite schist intrududed by an intermediate intrusive and continues to the southeast in quartz Mica schist. The package is intensely sheared and veined and carries 2 - 5% pyrite. The full width of the zone is yet to be determined as it is open to the southeast.

Given the geological environment that is now evident an I.P. crew has been mobilized in advance of the drilling program in order to concentrate all efforts on the pyritic mineralization.

Further trench results along with results from the I.P. program will be forthcoming.
