Its hard to get info on AVIR, since vaccine trials are so slow. They promise to release results of a 1600 child trial of their nasal-administered flu vaccine, in 3Q 1997.

I wonder where they they will mgf this vaccine, since manufacturing a vaccine is usually extremely demanding and expensive... vaccines are complex biological mixtures, and even if its not going to be injected the FDA will be extremely demmanding. Also they need an additional 50 million to get to profitability (projected for 1999).

H&Q likes them...but the fuse is pretty long and a lot of cash is needed.
