RM, one thing about the unemployment stats: they seem to be nearing a nadir. in short, things are as good as they get. looking at unemployment stats in relation to the stock market, in the past (e.g. the early '70's) nadirs in unemployment coincided with peaks in the stock market. not exactly of course, but pretty closely.
