NEWS FROM IWI............. ------------------------------------------------------------ Thursday April 6, 7:41 pm Eastern Time Company Press Release 21st Century Technologies Inc. Expands Manufacturing Capabilities FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 2000--Ken Wilson, Chairman of 21st Century Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:TEXNE - news), formerly (OTCBB:TEXN - news) texn.com, announced today that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Innovative Weaponry, Inc. (IWI) has commenced plans to expand its manufacturing capabilities.
IWI, a manufacturer of P-T Night Sights ptnightsights.com and other creative weaponry solutions for the military, sportsman, law enforcement and government agencies, has already hired 7 new employees at its Ft. Worth facility, as well as purchased a new CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) vertical milling machine. The new HAAS CNC is twice as big as the one they currently work with.
According to IWI Executive Vice President, Josh Wilson, ``The new machine in Ft. Worth should more than double current production capabilities.'
IWI is gearing up for new OEM accounts that are being added to their line such as CZ-USA, Fabrique Nationale (FNMI), Bomar Sights, Truglo Fiber Optic Sights, and Steyr Pistols. Since the success of the 2000 Shot Show, they have experienced increased interest in their sights, adding several new distributors and dealers nationally and internationally. They currently have new distributors in Honduras, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Australia.
Just recently IWI finished a deal with Brownell's, a gun parts distributor known for the quality of goods they carry, to feature their full line of tritium night sights. IWI has been featured in Brownell's before, but only a handful of sights used to be available from the catalogue. Now the entire night sight line is featured.
IWI has also beefed up their advertising campaign, with exposure in virtually all established Law Enforcement magazines. Examples include ``Law Enforcement Product News,' ``Law Enforcement Technology News,' and ``Law Enforcement Safety,' three of the largest existing publications. Since signing the contract with Truglo, IWI has opened a second manufacturing plant in Santa Ana, Calif.
This facility includes a 3000 sq. foot building with two Bridgeport Vertical CNC Milling Centers, along with a stand alone Bridgeport Mill, cutting saws, parts washer, parts tumbler, and enough tools to outfit the facility. Four new employees were added to efficiently run the new equipment. IWI is now running the machines on three 24 hour/day 5 days/week shifts. Along with manufacturing the tritium/fiber optic sights with Truglo, IWI also machines roughly 5000 aluminum parts a month for their fiber optic sights alone.
