Our seedlings aren't doing too well this year. Dreadful weather up here for the past 3 weeks. We were having very warm summer-like weather, and then all of a sudden, rain or overcast every day and now there has been snow for 2 days... Extremely dreary. The net result has been that the seedlings which are in flats in front of a not-too-sunny window are looking leggy compared to usual. The only plants that are doing well are some globe artichokes which I started from seed. I've never grown them before, but I know they are "possible" up here as I've seen them in the gardens at Esmond-Whites which is quite close by (I don't know if you would get their show where you are... "In a Country Garden"... made by one of the PBS stations in Upper N.Y. State). Anyhow, I always like to try something new each year, so this is it. Too bad we can't ship live plants over the border. I could send some interesting little plants down to you as I have well over 100 herbs growing here in my gardens... a lot of them are unusual medicinal ones which aren't seen in many gardens. Well, no tree leaves or blossoms to report... Just 3 inches of snow... but the rhubarb are valiantly thrusting up their leaves to a height of about 10 inches... they look like a cluster of emeralds....
