Details continue to emerge ... and as usual, we have to work hard to get them ...

1) From PC Magazine zdnet.com

"Virgin Webplayer

Boundless Technologies created it. Internet Appliance Network shaped it, labeled it the iBrow, and licensed it to Virgin Entertainment Group. And Virgin will give the unit away sometime this spring to its most loyal customers under the brand name Virgin Webplayer. Combining a wireless keyboard (with a built-in trackball) and a 10-inch color LCD screen, the Webplayer boasts easy-to-use plug-and-play Internet access and 32MB of flash memory. Although the unit is limited to 56K access, two USB ports let you plug in a number of devices. The keyboard has buttons hard-linked to IAN's many partners for such resources as airplane and movie tickets, e-mail, music news, and online shopping. The Webplayer also interacts directly with the Virginconnect Web portal, at www.virginmega.com."

2) From Dow Jones Newswires in regards to Lycos announcement ... news.excite.com

"Merinta provides software that powers and manages Internet appliances."

It will be interesting to see if Merinta is involved in developing the software for the IBM device, whether it is involved in the manufacturing of it or not. Remember, Lycos is involved in the IBM/Fidelity deal.

3) By the way, I've also run across this review of the Capio 325 ... zdnet.com
