Scumbria....re:Why would we expect the stock to go up before earnings?

Sorry to answer with a question, but why would we go down?
Well we could go down if we get another ugly market day like Tuesday. Hope that doesn't happen.

To tell you the truth, I think AMD has suddenly become high profile the last few days. The stock has gone from 51 to 72 in a matter of days (enough to make anyone worry). I have never seen so many mentions on CNBC. In fact I have probably heard more mentions on that station for the last couple of days than in the previous two months. With the market in corrective mode, the momentum players and day traders have probably climbed on board because it is one of the few stocks hitting all-time highs. Don't know if I want to be at their mercy. This is probably close if not the top two consecutive volume days for this stock in a long time.
Why will it go higher? I don't know that answer, I'm just hoping that it will.
