European stocks end up on tech strength
U.K. central bank stands pat on interest rates

LONDON (CBS.MW) -- European stocks closed higher Thursday, with several tech stocks providing upward momentum for the region's bourses.

In Britain, markets showed little reaction after the Bank of England left key interest rates unchanged at 6 percent, as widely expected.
