Joe, The EETimes and Register stories did not seem to be inconsistent to me. I have found the Register to generally be an extremely reliable source of information, though I think you are correct about the wrong usage of the term "synchronous" in the Register article. The recent instability of T-Bird would explain the 600 MHz sample being benchmarked by JC. BTW:I was doing a search for JC, and found a pretty funny site: extra.newsguy.com Scumbria
