[ADSL:DMT] I got my Westell modem today from Bell Atlantic and word in Northeast is Bell is trying to ramp-up connections before they loose to cable. BA customer svc isn't on top of the orders and I had to confirm every day until they got the connection date right and the modem out the door. Seems they were short modems even though I ordered an external. I had to complain to a mgr as the modem didn't arrive after (2) follow-up calls.She blamed the whse and had to hand deliver the modem request and track its' progress to make sure it got here. My impression is that they may be innundated with orders and modems may be hard to get ... hope this is BA underestimating demand and not our company having fulfillment difficulties ... OTOH if other bells our ordering our ADSL modems too and we can't keep up with demand ... ADD MORE CAPACITY!! PS: BA modem is Infospeed and looks like it's DMT probably licensed from Amati as part of the TX deal a few yrs ago. I wanted my DMT and I finally got my DMT! Hope all goes well on Monday when BA is supposed to turn me on! GO WSTL!
