Joe: re - upgrade from 166

I agree with your suggestion -- having a processor upgrade option would make it simple to extend the life of the box without a lot of hassle. I can upgrade current system to 233 but haven't felt sufficiently inclined to open it up. (Have added RAM & 2nd HDD but stuck with Win95 as it works just fine. Software on system exceeds HW price by 2:1.) Since I have brought this up... the MB supports a 233 and I just have to change several jumpers. Should I show a little initiative and give it a try? A 233 is less than $40 (or far less than the hour of my time the whole ordering, opening, changeover). Reply by PM if you want to spare the list.

I would like a low-end TBird socketed -- a little fun and hopefully a nice future to double the speed. The marginal performance gains from a Athlon 700MHz ($225) to a 900 ($789) are not nearly as cost-effective.
