Perot Systems and STC Join Forces to Deliver HIPAA and
eBusiness Solutions to the Healthcare Industry

Leaders In eBusiness Combine Expertise To Rapidly Enable Electronic
Exchange Of Information For Joint Healthcare Clients To Meet HIPAA
Mandates

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. and DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 2000-- Perot
Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER), a leading global information technology services and business
solutions company, and its long-time partner, STC, the leading provider of eBusiness Integration
(eBISM) packaged solutions, today announced a go-to-market strategy to facilitate the rapid and
cost-effective compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996
(HIPAA) for their joint healthcare customers. Perot Systems Healthcare Services Group's managed
care division will use STC's e*Xchange eBusiness Integration(TM) Suite as a best-fit solution in its
HIPAA Toolkit service offering.

Perot Systems will offer eBusiness-enabling services to assist clients in complying with the federal
HIPAA regulations--which require healthcare entities to use standard administrative transaction
formats, code sets, and identification protocols, as well as overall security standards when handling
medical information. Using STC's HIPAAware(TM) solution, based on the e*Xchange eBusiness
Integration Suite, Perot Systems and STC will help organizations to meet the HIPAA requirement
for processing near-real-time EDI transactions, while also providing a comprehensive platform for
eBusiness integration.

"Many of the largest healthcare providers are already familiar with STC's technology, and we will be
working together to ensure customers are prepared to comply with HIPAA requirements," said
Randall Booth, vice president of Perot Systems and general manager of the Healthcare Services
Group. "STC is a leader in the healthcare integration space, and this offering will provide our
customers with a platform to execute their overall eBusiness strategies."

Perot Systems and STC plan to deliver innovative applications, products and services to customers
throughout the healthcare industry. This agreement will also provide critical eBusiness capabilities to
Perot Systems' established integrated service offerings for the healthcare industry.

"HIPAA is a prime catalyst for the adoption of eBusiness integration technology among healthcare
providers and with the initial support of our solution's robust EDI and cross-indexing capabilities, we
can further provide a comprehensive solution for our customers' evolution to eBusiness," said Harry
Gould, vice president of global alliances for STC. "Together, Perot Systems and STC are ready to
bring rapid solutions for business-to-business integration, while providing a solid platform for
companies' evolving eBusiness integration needs."

About STC's HIPAAware(TM) Solution

STC's HIPAAware offering, available now, consists of three software products:

e*Gate(TM) Integrator offers the connectivity within and among the

diverse systems and applications that participate in the HIPAA
transactions. e*Gate supports the translations and field mapping
features needed to comply with nationally mandated code sets while
preserving local autonomy. e*Gate includes the pre-built message
structures for all HIPAA transactions, and an intuitive user
interface for mapping proprietary, internal messaging formats to
the appropriate HIPAA transactions.

e*Xchange(TM) Integrator allows organizations to EDI-enable their

integration infrastructure without purchasing separate EDI modules
for all their applications. It provides a single enabling
technology for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer
(B2C) eCommerce. For HIPAA, e*Xchange provides pre-built
validation rules for the ten standard transactions, as well as
HIPAA-compliant security for transmission over public networks if
desired.

e*Index(TM) Global Identifier provides the ability to maintain

internal numbering for providers, health plans and employers, and
simply cross-indexes these internal numbers to the nationally
assigned identifiers for external communication. e*Index is also
ready when, and if, HIPAA mandates a nationally assigned patient
identifier.
