Metrocall/Emergin Team to Connect Businesses Nationwide With Wireless Messaging Software
Proprietary Application Will Expedite Operational Communications Via Wireless Messaging Devices
ALEXANDRIA, Va. and BOCA RATON, Fla., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Metrocall, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCLL - news), and Emergin, Inc., today announced a multifaceted agreement to provide advanced messaging solutions to businesses of all sizes. The relationship will couple the nationwide wireless messaging capabilities of Metrocall with Emergin's WirelessOffice(TM) suite of software, resulting in a robust service that will benefit companies with numerous mobile employees and stakeholders. Metrocall's Systems Applications Division, which caters to large corporations and organizations such as health providers, will actively market Metrocall/WirelessOffice services.
The WirelessOffice software supports core commercial applications and functions such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), employee resources, e-mail, firewalls, network management tools and the Web. For example: mobile sales executives automatically receive order status; inventory service personnel receive detailed service requests and acknowledge work orders; operations personnel are automatically notified of equipment conditions and alarms; and security managers are alerted instantly of security breaches or medical emergencies.
``Metrocall selected Emergin's software solutions because they are designed for maximum flexibility -- integrating wireless devices, content services, and software applications,' stated William L. Collins III, Metrocall's president and chief executive officer. ``Corporate operations are extremely complex in today's fast-paced business environment. We have created a synergy featuring our nationwide messaging capabilities and the latest software enhancements that will expedite communications with the immediacy necessary to compete in today's marketplace,' he concluded.
``Emergin is excited about this new alliance,' stated Michael A. McNeal, president and chief executive officer of Emergin. ``Creating synergies with major players in the wireless industry, like Metrocall, ultimately results in solutions that provide customers all they need, and more, to stay connected via the wireless Internet.'
WirelessOffice is now the exclusive software utilized for corporate connectivity purposes by both Metrocall's nationwide interactive My2Way(TM) and its advanced one-way products and services. WirelessOffice provides businesses with new efficiencies and increased productivity by empowering mobile workforces. Also, this software application is targeted at corporations and business users, enabling remote subscribers to receive time-sensitive information.
Metrocall and Emergin will be prominent exhibitors at the Healthcare Management & Information Systems Society (HIMSS) 2000 Conference and Exhibition, April 10th -- 14th in Dallas, Texas.
