Healtheon/WebMD Streamlines Acquired Kinetra Business,
Announces Progress on Product Integration

Cost-Reduction and Integration of Complementary Products Illustrates Successful Execution

Company Deploying WebMD Practice to 50,000 Kinetra Physicians Nationwide And Migrating More Than 50 Million Annual Transactions

ATLANTA, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- In the two months after closing the acquisition of Kinetra, a joint venture between EDS (NYSE: EDS) and Eli Lilly Company (NYSE: LLY), Healtheon/WebMD Corporation (Nasdaq: HLTH), the first end-to-end Internet healthcare company connecting physicians and consumers to the entire healthcare industry, has decreased costs and has completed the initial product integration designed to drive transactions across the Healtheon/WebMD platform.

"We have moved aggressively to reduce costs at Kinetra. We have consolidated facilities, reduced headcount, and brought outsourced functions, such as field service deployment and help desk support back in-house. At the same time, we are integrating Kinetra's products with our Internet transaction platform so that we can seamlessly migrate Kinetra's extensive hospital and integrated delivery network (IDN) connectivity onto the Healtheon/WebMD platform," said Jeff Arnold, chief executive officer of Healtheon/WebMD. "We are also acting quickly to maximize relationships brought into our organization through the acquisition of Kinetra."

Healtheon/WebMD announced its agreement to acquire Kinetra, a leading provider of clinical document distribution solutions and administrative transactions to IDNs, large hospitals and payors, on December 21, 1999 and closed the acquisition on February 2,
2000.

Integration to Accelerate Electronic Clinical Transactions on WebMD Practice

Healtheon/WebMD has already enrolled over 20,000 of the 50,000 Kinetra physicians on WebMD Practice. As product integration nears completion, Healtheon/WebMD will accelerate the process of migrating the Kinetra-linked physicians to the Internet on WebMD Practice to capture the 50 million transactions they generate each year with over 100 healthcare organizations.

Healtheon/WebMD expects to integrate the functionality of the Radiant product into WebMD Practice Clinical Reporting Services by mid Q2 2000. In this same time period, integration of critical Datacon interfacing technology is also expected to be completed. These accomplishments will allow Healtheon/WebMD to interface with various hospital information systems.

"We're moving forward to provide critical linkages and connectivity between hospital systems, payors and physicians through WebMD Practice," said Krishna Kolluri, senior vice president and general manager of the Kinetra Business Unit for Healtheon/WebMD. "Our goal is to make the communications and transactions between these key audiences more efficient and functional."
