MRVC is an incubator of high tech companies in the networking field, including a major division in optical networking that is being readied for a probable IPO later this year. They recently acquired a Taiwan firm in optical components that broadens their product line and provides entry into Asian markets as well as adding production capacity. In addition, production capacity in their Chatsworth facilities has been tripled in the last year. Other divisions are working on terabit routers and DWDM components. Several of their divisions have received 2nd and 3rd round financing from some big names in the field. They compete with as well as sell to most of the big names in optical networking. They are dropping some low-end products to concentrate on newer higher-margined products.

Analyst coverage is quite sparse with only 3 analysts covering the company. One of them has a 12-18 month price target of $304. Followers of the company are anticipating expanded coverage as some of their products ramp up and various divisions are readied for IPO. A 2/1 split is to become effective on the Tuesday after Memorial Day.

I suggest you visit their web site. Lots of good data there. The poster on the MRVC board on SI to watch is Sector Investor.

Hope this helps.
