Business Wire RAYMOND CREECH NAMED PRESIDENT OF SECURE DIGITAL ASSOCIATION BUSINESS EDITORS/HIGH-TECH WRITERS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2000--Raymond C. Creech
has been named president of the Secure Digital Association (SDA). The
SDA is a new industry-wide organization that was established in
January, 2000, to set industry standards for the Secure Digital Memory
Card and promote its wide acceptance in digital applications.
Creech has more than 27 years experience in the semiconductor
industry. He held various marketing and sales management positions
with several firms including Fujitsu Microelectronics, AMD, Catalyst
Semiconductor, Synertek and Semico Research. His appointment is
effective immediately.
More than 70 companies are in the process of joining the SDA and
total membership is expected to be approximately 100 companies later
this year. The Secure Digital Memory Card was introduced in August,
1999, by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (NYSE:MC.N), best
known by its Panasonic brand name, SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK.O)
and Toshiba Corporation. The stamp-sized flash memory card will offer
a high-level of copyright protection and high density memory capacity.
The association expects that starting this year, the card will be
widely used in numerous consumer electronics products including
Internet music players, cellular phones, digital cameras, handheld
computers and camcorders.
Dan Auclair, senior vice president of business development and
licensing for SanDisk, said, "Ray Creech is an excellent choice to
head the SDA because of his vast experience in the semiconductor
industry and his many years of working with both U.S. and Japanese
companies." Auclair has been serving as the SDA's interim president.
For information about the SDA, call Creech at 831/637-4545 or
