Rent a G* phone for as little as 26$! tdcom.com TDCom, a French retailer of Inmarsat and Globalstar equipment rents the G/Telit 550 for 180FF (26$) per day. Keeping the phone for a week will set you back 900FF/130$. Interestingly, the weekly rates are very similar to GMPCS rates for the Q phone. But those in France wanting to stay in touch while day sailing or x-country skiing will find the one day rental rate very cheap compared to GMPCS which has a 66$ minimum one day charge. TDCom's sales price for the Telit phone is 8700 FF (about 1270USD). It carries various flavors of Inmarsat terminals which range from 17,500 FF to 129,500FF and have air time rates 2X higher than G's. (of course the Inmarsat terminals do data and currentl have much broader coverage.) TDCom is not offering the Ericcson phone (yet?)
