Hi Marshall-

Right now its all speculation on what the product will be that will facilitate the signal division. Thats not how I-Link is going to make their money. Most of the talk about the ability of the black boxes and what they can do is a lot of bunk. Your right, converting the analog signal to digital at the phone would mean you would need a dedicated digital line to your house. Some of the claims from I-Link wanna-bees on the internet have been outrageaous.

Generally all that the black boxes have turned out to be are glorified dialers with a few enhanced capabilities. I-Link recently announced that no black box will be needed to access their network. The main advantage of the dialer is to keep people from slamming your service plus you can cash those $100 AT&T checks and still not use their service.

I-Links advantage comes at the network level where the signal is converted to digital (right now in about 20% of the country), then they can push it out onto their dedicated intranet bypassing normal telephone switches. There is also a lot of neat things you can do to a digital signal including converting e-mail and fax transmissions to voice mail.

As the customer base increases, they drop in more of their own switches and Communication Engines(TM) hence dropping there overhead for long distance calls.

This is my understanding of how it works. Talking about future products without all the details is a bit premature.

Steve- had a feeling you would come back around after hearing more of the details. This company is lead by some of the best MLM people in the business.
