Hi Ken,

That release was somewhat outlandish in some of its parts, if you ask me. It would have us believe that the modulator would be responsible for creating a lossless optical span between points a and b. Is the modulator generating solitons? Also, is the spelling of chromophones with an "n", as opposed to chromophores with an "r", intentional? If not, it's misspelt several times, which gives me additional cause to wonder.

Curtis, thank you as well, for posting the abstract. But I am having some difficulty getting beyond the individual words in these messages. Yes, high gain, yes.. these are employing nanotechnology techniques as they are responsible for reshaping atomic constellations within molecules, thus having an effect on the absorbance of wavelengths.

But contextually, I'm having some difficulty. While I can begin to envisage some of the more obvious implications of this technology, I'm not sure what the real long term implications of it would be down the road. If you or someone else here would, please attempt to put this polymeric modulator model into some kind of working context for me/us. Tnx.
