A certain "poster" on SI, posted the following:

A few "quotes" from the post include:
1. "The GNET board is attacking Mark today, calling him names, insulting the man."
2. "I'll point out a few things about Mark...chances are he has forgotten more than most people who attack him will ever know."
3. "Well I'll be darned, (Mark) pretty well nailed the top of the trading range it has been since then...Nice call Mark..."
4. "Also, the harassing, name calling personal comments about him are out of line, PERIOD."
5. "I also have faith that Mark knows that a very few posters don't don't speak for GNET shareholders in general, or for Russell."
6. "I'm sure Mark and Russell will do a great job tomorrow, and I wish them both well."
Funny thing is (in April of 1999) the same poster (who apparently didn't even hear the 4/22/99 interview "live" between Haines and Russell, but first got his information second-hand) made the following comments in many posts regarding Mark Haines and the interview. This poster contined his "comments" regarding Haines for weeks (just a few links to those posts provided below). *Note: Some of his posted comments contain "fake" interviews between Mr. Haines and Russell Horowitz (fabricated by the poster). Only a FEW of his quotes (and a few of the MANY links) are provided below. I'm sure Mr. Haines attorneys have already thoroughly reviewed these posts (and many other posts by this particular poster) for any potential "slander," and/or "damages" to his professional reputation and/or financial livelihood:
1. "CNBC and Mark Haines got a major black eye on this one."
2. (referring to Haines) "...most people on the internet tonight think he is either childish, foolish, a jerk, etc..."
3. "Mark. . .you are an IDIOT, a MORON."
4. "Mark Haines, what a jerk."
5. "Mark you're really making yourself look stupid, like you have 'dead air' in your TV head"...you are coming off like a complete IDIOT, a MORON."
6. "Mark you are acting like a total MORON, a JERK."
7. "Good God man, you really are an IDIOT, a MORON. How can you mislead millions of people with such a stupid question? Do you do ANY home work before an interview? Do you THINK or just talk? Since you really don't know what you are talking about, I'll explain this to you."
7. "Stop acting like an angry simpleton Mark."
8. "You are not confused, what you are is stupid...Did you do ANY home work before this interview..."
9. "I plan on letting Mark and CNBC have it, until they say uncle."
10. "I'm coming back to my 'puter...and ripping Mark a new one."
