Hummer, it's really a matter of opinion whether IDC is undervalued or still has a ways to fall. Much will depend upon whether IDC's IPR is valuable or not. At this point, about all we have to go on are the claims of IDC management and a few long-term shareholders who claim to have done extensive research and found incredible value.

One problem I have with those who believe IDC is built upon a solid IPR foundation is the lack of confidence demonstrated by the billions of investment dollars that would like the kind of returns that a story like IDC could provide if the claims are true. IDC attracted a lot of attention when it rocketed into the 80's and I'm sure IDC's claims were investigated by a lot of qualified professionals that were probably hired by firms with millions of investment dollars looking for a bright future. The lack of follow-through buying as the price stagnated and then dropped further is a strong statement about the strength of IDC's position in the rapidly expanding wireless market.

Even if IDC had good IPR, I have little faith in the ability of management to convert this IPR into the kind of profit that would drive shares higher. Until IDC proves they can create a significant royalty stream or supply the market with ASIC's that are in high demand, IDC remains a poor investment risk. I'm willing to change my mind when I see evidence to the contrary.

The fact that the stock traded briefly in the 80's points more toward investors who had not done the proper DD than it does towards the future of IDC.
