Steve Lee: Do you recall the community open source license? I, and many others who follow SUNW, feel that this was a very fair arrangement.

Remember, UNIX was balkanized due to not having a strong and unified owner of the code. So others can innovate JAVA and prosper from it, but the main purpose of Java, to be an open, "write once run anywhere", has been preserved.
