Two answers-- Yes it was a typo. Next, solitons and WDM; Collisions between solitons in different channels can occur. The collision length depends on fiber characteristics, bit rate, channel spacing etc. Collisions cause soliton phase shift and frequency shifts. At the receiver, collision-induced temporal shifts introduce unacceptable jitter. OK ??
