Dear Abbigail.
I didn't say RHAT was anything worth investing in, nor VA Linux. I would not invest in a company named "VA Internet" or "GSM Corp." either.
I cannot understand, how so many of you can associate VA Linux and Red Hat with the Linux movement. They are just two companies who do not own a technology. The Linux movement is better comparable to Bluetooth, GSM, TCP/IP, POTS, Ethernet etc. Nobody owns it, it does not benefit most shareholders, but it is a big market.
According to several Microsoft selling distributors, the main reason, why I cannot get an installation CD from Microsoft, that installs Windows and Office, is that it would not be legal in the US.
Since nobody owns Linux, everybody can bundle Linux into it, just like Iwill and Intel bundle Linux with their hardware, and just like Corel Office installs everything in one installation.
Today, Linux based systems are therefore much easier to install than Windows and Office, and of course it takes less time.
If anybody says something else, don't believe them. They obviously still only know Microsoft products really good. |
