Y'all are talking trash about me in my absence!

Whew! First I tried to upgrade to Win 2000. No Go. W2K does not support a Busmaster IDE controller. That's stupid.

Then, I took my W2K software back to Office Depot and had to argue a refund. Not normally done, and all that crap, for software.

So then I ran the W98 Second Edition upgrade. That's the sloppiest upgrade of any software I have ever seen, and I have seen a few! Had to turn my computer off and back on numerous times. (The instructions actually tell you to do this if your computer stops responding. Ri-fricking-dick-you-lous!)

Then, when I turned my computer off and on enough times for the W98 install to be "successfull" (sheesh!), my cable modem connection no longer worked. Had to call @home tech support to get my IP/domain/etc addresses set up, and it still did not work.

So out of sheer frustration, I removed my NIC card from the Network, re-booted, had an unsuccessful re-install of my NIC driver. Now it works.

(In the meantime, I installed 4 pallets of sod, built footers for my yard barn coming Wednesday, took the kids to dinner, and generally enjoyed life.)

Now about that Vegas trip.....
