Irish passport available if either parent born in Eire
mother born and raised there on a farm south of Dublin
she married an Iowa cornfedder egghead
I clawed my way out of the womb in 1952

so with my mother's birth certificate
my parents' marriage certificate
my birth certificate
I was able to prove my mother's birthplace of Ireland
the USA permits dual passports with Ireland

I am unsure, but I believe duals are permitted with the entire United Kingdom and Ireland (including Scotland)

it is the advantage of the English speaking peoples who populated this country originally
it is debatable that English is really spoken in either Ireland or Scotland
