Thanks for the response DownSouth. I invested in NTAP in the Spring of last year upon learning of the Dell OEM agreement. Dell and NTAP should both prosper from this deal in the coming years. But, I expect that Dell would like to sign on another supplier in this space in order to put some pressure on NTAP to reduce its share of the profits. Still, this will probably not be too easy to accomplish. It is my understanding that the EMC/DG products have not been competitive. PRCM, which supposedly has been selling off non-NAS businesses and focusing on NAS storage, recently signed a deal with HWP. But Procom cannot compete with NTAP at the present time. Cobalt Networks is another possibility. What are your thoughts on who the winners will be (NTAP, EMC, PRCM, or COBT) and what ground they will hold in a couple of years? (Do you know of a link to a good article that discusses all the players, their current market positions & future prospects?) Obviously, there is room for more than 1 player in the fast growing storage space. I got into EMC several years ago and NTAP last year. At this time, I plan on holding both for the foreseeable future.

I wish SI would go ahead and implement the changes that will allow archival
searches going back several years. Supposedly a plan do so is in the cards.
