The Historical Revisionism Begins...
RE: "Strip away the jargon, and it becomes clear that the government wants to nationalize Windows, the operating system that has brought the miracles of online commerce, research, and entertainment to the world. When the government ran the Internet, it was a dead system of transfer messages between government offices. Microsoft has shown what private enterprise can do: change the world for the better." Nice Stalinist Tactics here. Pretty soon the party line will read:
-Threats to Microsoft are threats to Public Decency, Democracy, and Free-Market Enterprise in our country.
-Chairman Gates is The Great Innovator. What he does is called innovation, always first with the best.
-Chairman Gates, The Great Progressive, Loves Us and is a Man of the People. Getting to be the Richest Man in History is just history's way of validating the inherent love he has for us.
-Chairman Gates' Great Gift to us is, and the Cross of His Suffering on Earth is, the Holy Windows OS, without which none of us could access his other great gift, the Internet.
-Chairman Gates is the Great Visionary, having always appreciated the significance of the Internet and having never Pooh-Poohed it.
-Chairman Gates is the Great Innovator, who having seen the Lisa/Mac OS in the early 80's, took 13 years to come up with an innovative kluge-clone for us, while soothing us with "the power of DOS."
-Suffer the Little Children unto the Chairman, for they are innocent of mind and will become the Chairman's followers in future generations...
Gag me with a spoon.

PS: I would not be surprised to see this board, and other Microsoft boards as well, flooded in coming weeks with phoney PR posts paid for by certain interests. Will we come to see Tobacco-NRA-Microsoft-Waco axis on the political fringe in coming months? Stay tuned! H. |
